Trump: Condemn the White Supremacists' Attack on Charlottesville, VA

This weekend, thousands of white supremacists descended on Charlottesville, VA and brought with them hatred, bigotry, and terror.

My husband and I are both UVA alumni, and we watched in horror on Friday night as clansmen, militiamen, and nazis marched down the Lawn carrying torches and chanting.

But on Saturday, our horror turned to tears of rage as we watched footage of a car plowing through a crowd of people peacefully walking down the street, and then reverse just as quickly to mow down even more pedestrians.

A man used his car as a weapon to kill a 32-year-old woman and injure as many people as possible. This was a terrorist attack. On Charlottesville. On our country. On Democracy.

But our president's statement did not condemn the alt-right, white supremacists who marched on Charlottesville. He who is so quick to label people of color as terrorists, has not spoken out against this act of terror carried out by a white man.

Sign this petition to demand that President Trump condemn the white supremacists who turned Charlottesville into a war zone this weekend, and call the car crash what it was - a terrorist attack.
Update #26 years ago
Trump just spoke to the nation about the events in Charlottesville for the third time, and it wasn't pretty. He said that many of the torch-bearing, gun-carrying people who marched on Charlottesville were not neo-nazis and white nationalists, and that the press had treated them "unfairly." He compared George Washington to Confederate leaders. He once again tried to argue that "both sides" are responsible for what happened. Please share this petition. We need to speak out now more than ever.
Update #16 years ago
After the huge amount backlash from people like you, the president has finally condemned the white supremacists for inciting violence in Charlottesville. But his late-in-the-game statement isn't enough. Trump has yet to call the car crash that took the life of Heather Heyer an act of terror. And he still maintains close ties with known white supremacists. So share my petition and sign this petition to demand that Trump fire Bannon, Miller, and Gorka.
