Demand that the Common Period Schedule be not put into effect

There is nothing wrong with the current schedule; class periods are long enough to get adequate learning time in, homeroom does not consume much class time, students have enough time during their free periods to see teachers and be social. Any student who plays a sport would be unable to manage school work, sports, and sleep, as well as having a social life, with the new schedule. If the school day ends at 4:00 PM, and practice starts at 4:30, then that student would probably not get home till around 8:00 PM. Imagine if that student is taking several AP and Honors classes. They could have three or more hours of homework a night! If they got home at 8:00 PM, they probably wouldn't be able to get to sleep till midnight. And if they have to wake up 6:00 AM, they would only get around seven hours of sleep, and that's assuming they fall asleep right away. A student in high school is supposed to get around eight hours of sleep a night. Students would be lacking sleep, as well as free time. To get all of their work done during the weekday, a student would have limit their free time by a huge amount.
