Brandi Chastain's Sports Hall of Fame Plaque Is Horrific. Make Her a New One!

Soccer star Brandi Chastain is one of the most influential athletes in the world. Her jubilant celebration after scoring the winning goal for the U.S. against China at 1999 Women's World Cup final is one of the most iconic moments in sports history.

That's why it's no surprise that Chastain was recently inducted in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame — but what is a surprise is the unflattering bronze plaque they created of her.

This horrific and unrecognizable "likeness" is no way to honor such an amazing athlete. Please sign my petition calling on the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame (BASHOF) to re-do the bronze plaque for Brandi Chastain.

Brandi Chastain is an inspiration to athletes all around the world — especially to women. She's a two-time Olympic gold-medalist, two-time World Cup champion, and has numerous other awards and endorsements honoring her long and successful career.

She rightfully belongs in the Sports Hall of Fame — but not like this. This plaque is a disaster.

Join me in demanding that the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame apologize and re-do her bronze plaque!
