Are you aware that the City of Covina is purposing to take over the 11 county "island" areas of Covina? These areas include anyone who lives on a blue street sign with addresses of 3000 and higher. City officials are claiming that the "islands' create confusion among the residents about where their public safety and other services come from.
What confusion? There is 911, which sends you the appropriate public safety services. As for other services, not sure what they are talking about. Everyone is allowed to join Parks and Recreation, Senior Centers and the Library. Your utility information is given to you by your realtor or property management, therefore, no confusion.
What will happen if the City of Covina gets their way? PROPERTY TAXES INCREASED, NEW UTILITY COMPANIES WITH HIGHER RATES, FRONT YARD FENCING MUST BE REMOVED, NO RV PARKING ON PROPERTY, and NO OVERNIGHT PARKING WITHOUT PERMIT! Sign the petition to let City Officials know, we are happy living under the County line and DO NOT want to become a part of the City of Covina.
