Sanctuary For Lady and Joy, Baylor University

Lady and Joy, the live Black Bear mascots at Baylor University, have lived their whole lives in captivity, as part of a long cruel tradition of live mascots at Baylor. Some concessions have been made through the years due to protests, they no longer are forced to go to noisy games, drink Dr Pepper, or be lead through parades on chains, however the depression and anxiety these captive bears are going through is evident, tourists taunt and tease them, their opened caves are too hot to take shelter from the heat, and the noise and air pollution is affecting them negatively.
Bears in the wild and at sanctuaries are roamers, they also forage, and are social animals. Living as a exhibit at Baylor University is not good for them, and they need to be somewhere focused on their well being.
Lady and Joy need to go to a sanctuary and the cruel Bear Program needs to end.
