He Strangled His Dog to Avoid Paying for Euthanasia. Justice for Tinkerbell!

Humanely euthanizing a beloved pet is one of the hardest decisions a person can make. But often, is it the right thing to do. Sometimes, an animal's quality of life declines due to illness or aging, and humanely euthanizing them is the most compassionate choice.

In the case of Tinkerbell, a senior dog living in Ohio, that was what vets recommended. Her owner had brought her in due to her declining health, and so the office made the necessary preparations to gently and safely euthanize her.

But when the veterinary staff left the room, Tinkerbell's owner did something horrific -- he decided to try and strangle her to death.

Apparently, Tinkerbell's cruel owner thought the price tag for humane euthanasia was too high, so he decided to give her a brutal, painful end instead.

Ironically, these were his words, captured on audio recording in the office: "I won't let you suffer. $500 is highway robbery."

Clearly he was okay with Tinkerbell suffering just as long as he didn't have to pay for her to be peacefully, compassionately euthanized.

He wasn't able to kill Tinkerbell with his horrific methods -- she went through the fear and turmoil of being strangled just to be euthanized anyway.

What Tinkerbell's owner did was brutal, cruel, and totally unnecessary. Had he talked to the veterinary staff about not being able to afford the cost of euthanasia, surely they could have helped him. Many vet's offices offer payment plans, financial assistance, or collaborate with local organizations to offer owners support. What this man did was the opposite of merciful, and he must be held accountable for it.

Sign the petition and demand that local prosecutors make sure this man can never own or harm another animal like Tinkerbell ever again!
