Let’s stop the slaughtering of bulls in the new Tordesillas festival

This year animal activists in Spain have achieved a great victory: the “Toro de la Vega”, a cruel celebration in Tordesillas (Spain) where a bull was speared to death by neighbors, has finally been banned. Now the town celebrates the “Toro de la Peña”, an alternative festival where the bull is not killed in public. But that is the only reason to celebrate. In this new fiesta the bull is equally abused and persecuted, and the animal is finally sacrificed at the end of the event, this time with no cameras recording the moment.

Many animal lovers have offered alternatives to the bull, like taking it, once the celebration is over, to a sanctuary for animals where it will be safe (for example, to the Hogar Provegan Sanctuary in Tarragona). But this year these demands have not been heard and the animal has been slaughtered again. However, we have the opportunity to prevent it to happen next year. Let's stick together and ask the mayor of Tordesillas to publicly commit to deliver the bull to an animal shelter after the end of the festival.

Thanks to your help we have managed to stop the cruel torture of the “Toro de la Vega”. Help me now to take another step to improve the welfare of animals avoiding the killing of bulls in this new Tordesillas festival! With your signature we can make it.

Mayor of Tordesillas,

Publicly commit to deliver the bull to an animal shelter after the end of the the Toro de la Peña festival.
