Italy: send aid to war-torn Yemen

The people of Yemen desperately need our help.

One of the Arab world's poorest countries, Yemen has buckled under the pressure of a grinding civil war.

Deadly cholera is sweeping the country, killing those too poor to protect themselves by boiling the water they drink.

A huge proportion of those suffering are children. The UN has warned that 80% of Yemen's children are in desperate need of aid and 2 million are suffering from acute malnutrition.

Earlier in 2017, international donors pledged $2.1bn in humanitarian aid to Yemen. But only one-third of the money has come in, according to the UN. This means a huge shortage of vital aid.

Italy is one of the wealthy Western countries that needs to play a bigger part. Please sign this petition to demand that Italy saves lives in Yemen by donating a minimum of $300,000 to the Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen in 2017.

The Italian government:

The people of Yemen are in desperate need of international support. War, starvation and cholera are claiming the lives of innocent civilians.

The Italian government must lead the way by contributing a minimum of $300,000 to the 2017 Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen.
