Stop TN's Newest Anti-trans Bathroom Bill!

House Bill 1488 (HB 1488) would order the state of Tennessee to reimburse what it costs to defend schools and/or teachers who are sued for discriminating against trans children. Recently in Wisconsin a school district was ordered to pay $800,000 for one (1) student's discrimination lawsuit. If HB 1488 is passed that debt would be paid by the state of Tennessee and taken out of your tax dollars.

This bill will not only cost the state monetarily, it will also encourage schools to discriminate against trans children. Schools won't need to worry about financial consequences since the state will be footing the bill if they are sued. If school districts don't want to be sued, don't discriminate!
