Diminish taxes on owned properties

What happens if you don't pay property taxes, the government comes and takes what you've worked, struggled, and clawed for. How is this fair? It isn't. I believe there is a better way for this to be handled and please if you disagree, have another solution present it. People should only pay taxes on things that are not owned and I say this because technically it's not yours completely, but as soon as it's paid off property taxes or taxes of any kind should be nonexistent. People work hard for the things they have, when it's finally paid off that sigh of relief is the best feeling in the world, the accomplishment that was made through years of hard work is the best feeling. Now you didn't pay your taxes on something that is paid off and is now completely yours, or is it, wow the government can come and take what's mine because I didn't pay something they created, but it's mine I struggled for it, I made those payments every month no matter any issues that were around. There was a man I believe in Georgia, a veteran who has Alzheimer's couldn't remember to pay his house taxes which by the way was paid off but they threw him out. Please anyone explain to me how that is fair? This man worked extremely hard to pay off his home for years but now it belongs to the government due to rules that were unplaced that states that after giving all this money they need more, the ultimate greed. Let's get this knocked out, if your home, car, property or any other thing that is paid off there should be no taxes, now this is my opinion on the matter. If your still paying on it then taxes can be expected.
