Save the wildlife by stoping animal poaching and poisoning

I live in a small country and everyday I see on the news, net or TV that a wild animal is killed because of its fur or horn. Many people kill street dogs or cats by using poison and I even don't know the reason. In my country this happens a lot and I don't get why are people like that. The only thing I can say is that a lion is not a carpet for your house, a rhino is not medicine and an elephant is not decoration. So many animals are dying and I am afraid that humanity will push some species to extinction.. Just imagine if someone pointed a gun to your head because of some idiotic sport or compatition. A hungry dog steals food from you, if you live on a farm he will maybe take your chicken and you think killing a starving animal will solve that? What are we doing? Where is this planet going? I don't know anymore.. The worse part of all of this, is the people responsible don't even pay for their crimes.. I think they should be sent to jail for about 5 year or more,bacuse giving money won't solve a thing. I know that even if an animal species is under protection, pouchers will try to kill it. The only thing I can think of is baning them form entering the home lands of those animals.
