A Commerce City police officer shot and killed a dog while it was in a garage trying to keep its distance from the officers.  This officer needs to be held responsible, and should be fired by the Police Department.

Dear Mr. Smith,

This is a petition regarding the incident that occured on November 24 in which one of your officers shot and killed a dog.  As you can see by the number of signatures I've acquired so far, people are very upset about the matter.  After seeing the video recorded by the neighbor, I believe that this man should be relieved of his duties as an officer.  The video clearly displays the officer using his weapon wrecklessly and unnecessarily while neighbors stood outside and watched.  The situation ended terribly, but could've ended even worse.  In my opinion this is not just an animal cruelty issue, it's a public safety issue as well.  Thank you for your time.
