California Wildfire Victims Need Federal Disaster Relief!

In the past few months, multiple hurricanes and wildfires have ravaged communities across the country. That's why the White House just sent Congress a request for $44 billion in disaster aid. Unfortunately, none of that money has been earmarked for victims of the Northern California wildfires.

Please sign this petition demanding that the Trump administration put partisanship aside and immediately add disaster aid for California victims who need it!

In early October, 21 fires burned at least 245,000 acres of land throughout Napa, Lake, Sonoma, Mendocino, Butte, and Solano counties in Northern California. Forty-three people were killed and nearly 9,000 structures were destroyed. Entire neighborhoods were leveled. Communities are still dealing with the loss, and it'll be some time before the area rebounds fully.

California lawmakers have requested aid, which would go toward "direct assistance to victims, rebuilding public infrastructure, restoring lost homes and wineries, and cleaning up debris and waste" -- all things that the people of Northern California desperately need.

Trump is likely punishing these victims since California historically votes Democrat, with the last election being no exception. Trump needs to put petty politics aside and act like a true leader for once. Please sign this petition demanding that Trump add disaster aid for wildfire victims in California.
