Tell Menards: Say, NO! to Glue Boards

Menards, a home improvement warehouse, currently is selling glue boards (also known as glue traps) on their own in packs, as well as live trapping products that include a glue board with the purchase of the non-lethal trap.

Glue boards do not discriminate. Endangered species and species crucial for a healthy ecosystem, such as bats and birds, are put at equal risk. Glue boards have been cited as one of the greater dangers to Wisconsin's dwindling bat populations.

They also pose a danger to people that try to handle a live caught animal, as they can be bitten, scratched, and come into contact with a diseased animal's feces. Pets, attracted to live prey, get the glue in their mouth, eyes, and on their skin. Small, inquisitive children are also a concern.

Glue boards are ineffective and unnecessarily cruel. When caught in them, animals can struggle upwards of five days, tearing apart their skin and limbs in the process, and die slowly from dehydration, exhaustion, and self-inflicted wounds.

Please ask Menards to end business with glue board manufacturers such as Tomcat® and Jawz™. You can send them a message from this page: https://www.menards.com/main/contactUs.html
