Demand Cruel Clothing Brand Stop Using Real Ostrich Feathers.

Ostriches should not be made to suffer just so rich people can have a trendy coat! Add your name if you want to ban this cruel practice, NOW!

Unlike many birds, ostriches do not molt. This means that they don't drop feathers to be collected, and their feathers have to be ripped from their flesh; in some cases, this heartless harvest takes place while the animals are still alive.

Alive or dead, all the ostriches get out of the deal is trauma, pain and suffering.

According to PETA, in one ostrich abattoir facility: "workers were caught on camera striking ostriches in the face during transport, and when ostriches stumbled over a collapsed flock-mate outside a slaughterhouse, a plant director joked, “I’ll call the animal welfare officer just now.”"

This is not a laughing matter. Why?

Because live plucking is arguably the worst fate these majestic birds can face. They are blindfolded, restrained, and forced to endure the torture of their feathers being torn from their skin one after another, after another, after another...

After humans have had their way, the helpless birds are left bare and bleeding. The ostriches can only look forward to growing their feathers back, just to have them stripped away again.

The Alice McCall coat pictured above currently retails for $1,990 USD on their company website. It is made using ostrich feathers.

The motive for all this cruelty is perfectly clear: profit. Disgusting.

Don't you agree that only ostriches should be wearing ostrich feathers?

Then add your name to demand that Alice McCall, founder of this fashion brand, stop using real ostrich feathers in her clothing and find a synthetic, cruelty-free alternative!
