We the undersigned are very concerned about the proposed construction of a house on the empty lot adjacent to 63 Mercer Avenue. This property is located several hundred feet north of Findlay Ave.
There is a proposed ~5,000 sq feet of disturbance on heavily sloped land. The potential construction would require 600 cubic yards of cut in addition to the removal of 11 trees. We are concerned about the impact of constant drilling and/or rock chipping, and increase of flooding on the corner of Mercer and Findlay, and to the houses at all sides of the construction site. We are also concerned about the street blockage and other hazards that may result. These are just a few of many disturbances we fear will arise and impact the neighborhood as a whole.
We are in the process of understanding whether an environmental impact study has been conducted by the town and if not to request that one be done prior to members voting on the proposed development. Many of us most affected y this proposed construction received very late notice and were not able to attend the Town Hall Meeting held on September 16th or investigate the impact of what is being proposed. As a result, we are respectfully requesting an extension on the given October 2nd deadline so that legal counsel is able to advise us of our rights and legal recourse.
Thank you for your attention.
