The GOP and its media machine is so entirely consumed with spite, hatred, and a hysterical need to attack Biden at every opportunity that they have decided that an American being freed from unjust captivity by a cruel dictatorship is an excuse to hurl disgusting smears and tear down the President's deft diplomatic maneuvering.
No sooner was the news announced that Griner began being trashed for her race, sexuality, and her participation in BLM protests. Prominent conservative commentator Jesse Kelly wrote on Twitter that "she's a black lesbian who hates America. Biden is just bringing another voter back home," while Dinesh D'Souza wrote "Putin understands that what the woke Biden regime cares most about are things like GAY and POT-HEAD and ANTI-AMERICAN." That's just the tip of the iceberg of the hateful vitriol being thrown at the Olympic star.

Marjorie Taylor Greene called for Biden's impeachment, while her MAGA colleagues piled on with bad faith accusations that imprisoned ex-Marine Paul Whelan — who was kicked out of the Corps for larceny — was being deliberately left behind, despite Trump's failure to try to secure his freedom.
One might think that an American being freed would be cause for celebration, but the MAGA cult has so warped right-wing politics that they are incapable of responding to anything that the Democrats do without hysteria, bigotry, and violence.
