This is outrageous. The Trump administration—under the direction of anti-vaccine wactivist RFK Jr.—just canceled more than $500 million in funding for mRNA vaccine research, including projects that could help fight bird flu, cancer, HIV, and future pandemics.
mRNA vaccines helped end the COVID-19 pandemic. They've saved millions of lives, and now they're showing promise in treating other deadly diseases. But instead of building on that success, RFK Jr. is shutting it down, based on discredited conspiracy theories.
This move could delay lifesaving cures, weaken our ability to respond to future outbreaks, and let countries like China take the lead from us in global biotech innovation.
We can't let this happen.
