Demand Proper Investigation Into MCSO Jail Inmate's Death

Frances Trujillo believes her son's death while being incarcerated at the Mohave County Jail in Kingman is being covered up as a suicide. Anthony Trujillo, 22, was found dead by jail officials on Nov. 10 around 8 p.m. This was the second hanging within a month.

Frances Trujillo was not allowed to identify her son's body the night she was notified of his death. A jail official made the identification for her. It was two weeks later that she was able to see him.
Frances spoke to her son Anthony twice on the day he died. The first call, around 2 p.m. was just like any conversation as was the last call around 4 p.m. The calls were normal with no indication of her son on the verge of suicide.

Frances finally viewed her son's body at the funeral home two weeks after his death and noticed abnormalities on his body. He was bruised and his face was swollen and there was injury to his ear. Frances believes two other inmates are responsible and the jail is covering it up due to other inmate deaths/fights. Frances believes her son's death was staged to look like a suicide.

Frances wants the Arizona Attorney General's Office to conduct a proper investigation into her son's death and bring charges to those if warranted.
