On March 4, 2017, it will be 2 years since Sk8Charleston was born in the Holy City. The beautiful 32,500 skatepark comes with a 200 ft+ snake run, a Pro bowl, Immediate bowl, and a gigantic downstreet course that overlooks the Ashley River. Shoutout to Team Pain for building and giving the Charleston community a skatepark! Did I mention it's a SKATEPARK? A park for skaters to skate and for skaters only? The 843 skate community has spent the past 20+ years trying to get a skatepark built in this city, from countless fundraisers to board meetings, this skate community has dedication to this independent sport. So why is Charleston County Parks giving BMXers one day out of the week(Tuesday) for them to shred, where they have done NOTHING to get Sk8charleston open? If they want a place to go do bunny hops and tail whips, they can go get their own park built. To my knowledge, some of these skaters have put EVERYTHING they have to get Sk8Charleston built. Just doesn't make any sense to let the bikers into the park where they haven't done anything for the city or us skaters.Not to mention they leave skid marks all over the park and their pegs can potentially ruin the obstacles at the park over time. They simply don't have any respect for us or the community.If you want to make Sk8 Charleston a better SKATEPARK and be able to skate it 7 days a week, then sign this petition and let's get this ball rolling! If we step up this, then we can the opportunity to change more things at the park, instead of enforcing more rules! WE JUST WANNA SKATE AND HAVE FUN
