Save Lives... Expand Working Cat Programs!

You've heard or working dogs but what about working cats??

No matter which state you live in, there is bound to be a feral cat population roaming the streets or dirt roads.

Cats are amazing predators and survivalists which lead many of us to believe they are okay living on the street. Unfortunately, the "wild" is a hard place for many and death is inevitable within the first few years of life.

Yet many cats are also not fit to live inside with humans. That's where working cat programs come in. These programs place healthy cats that aren't suitable as pets in environments where they can flourish, working alongside humans to control rat and mice populations. These cats can be placed successfully in barns, construction companies, police stations, and other businesses looking for inexpensive and effective rodent control.

Instead of filling up shelters and causing breeding problems in the cities we can give a safe home and better life to cats that wouldn't otherwise be candidates for adoption.

We also have spay and neuter programs already available across our country which provide these services free of cost for feral animals -- they even have rentable cages for capture. For those who are busy many times, Humane Societies will even pick up the animal themselves if given a call.

Expanding Trap, Neuter or Spay, Return (TNR) programs which are already in place and asking politicians to promote the TNR programs in their districts is a great first step.

Let's help our furry friends out for their health and the health of our cities and communities.
