Keep Lafayette Pre-K in the Neighborhood

We are current, former, and future Lafayette parents and interested community members who want to keep Lafayette Pre-K in our neighborhood.

DCPS is proposing to eliminate Pre-K at Lafayette Elementary School either by: (1) moving Lafayette Pre-K to 1375 Missouri Avenue; or (2) reducing and eventually ending Pre-K at Lafayette. They have said the decision will be made within the month. Why the hurry?

We believe families should have a Pre-K option in our neighborhood. We ask DCPS to call off this rushed process, return to the drawing board, and work with Lafayette families and community leaders to identify a solution to Lafayette's over-crowding that keeps Lafayette Pre-K at our neighborhood school.
