Petitioning Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to reconsider treatment for Baby Kian!

*Please note... picture above is not recent. Picture is the day Kian beat his first bout of cancer!*

Kian was initially diagnosed with leukemia when he was just 1 year old. Now 2 years old and had been in the fight of his life. He's beat cancer once and we're trusting that he can do it again! After being deemed cancer free... in October 2017 Kian was taken to the doctors for a fever... It turned out cancer was back and he's been fighting again ever since.

Kian has fought 2 life threatening infections, overcame debilitating fevers, and has not needed as many blood and platelet transfusions as predicted.

However, Kian has lost his ability to walk. He cannot sit up on his own. He is extremely weak. This past week, he has completely stopped eating, and can barely swallow to drink. All medications are now given via IV because of his inability to swallow properly. His fevers are back just 4 days after taking a 10 day course of antibiotics.

He's back at the hospital.

(When CHOA told us that there was nothing else they could do, we were released from the hospital into hospice care in October. The hospice team does n
ot have its own facility so they contract with other agencies. We have been in our own home.)

When hospice came to look at him Friday, they felt like he was too critical to continue care at home.

His nurse is not fond of any of the facilities that they contract with. She said they have a mix of adults and kids; they do not handle kids well and that she did not trust them with Kian. She suggested that it would be easier for him to be on a familiar place with familiar faces, so...

We are back at the same hospital we have lived at for the past 15 months.

Kian was admitted for end of life care yesterday.

He is sleeping most of the day (18+ hours) and we are working to control his pain to the best of our ability.

We have not lost faith. We still know who God is and what he can do. We still believe in the only way possible.

We strongly believe that there's another route that can be taken in Kians case and we're begging and pleading for Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, the top pediatric hospital in the nation to take a look at baby Kian and help him!

Please take a stand with us as we continue to fight with Kian!

A huge thank you to those who are partnering with us to raise funds and get the word out there! We're fighting and we won't stop until we see results!
