Demand that New Jersey Cease its Annual Bear Hunt

  • by: Carlie BUCQUET

NJ has held a bear hunt every December since 2010 when Gov Chrisie took office. This hunt precedes any attempt to have aversive training, which has been successful in other states. Please note that NJ does not enforce bear-proof garbage cans either, and this is a prime target for Bears who can smell your trash from several miles away! There is a site that is helpful, guiding people on how to coexist with Bears, and we need more followers and more people to better understand how to live with wildlife.

Media fear has whipped people up to believe the worst of black Bears, that are simply opportunists after your loosely contained trash. It's that simple. In Native American totems, the Bear is one of the primary healers. But, in fact, Native Americans still respect nature for the good that it brings - survival.

We ask that you sign this petition to save NJ's last big game. This state used to have wood Bison, Cougars and even orange parakeets, all bumped off by humans. Please do not let NJ eradicate its Bears and don't let them die in vain like Cecil the Magnificent Lion, who was baited and tortured by a U.S. dentist.

The world has rebelled against this hideous behavior of trophy hunting, and rightly so. We ask that you rebel against trophy hunters and pass this petition along.

Help NJ save its last big game.
Thank you for your support.
