We the people want a permanent end to family separation at the border, to honor the DACA program recipients and offer it to future undocumented minors, to safely and expediently process asylum applications to migrants who request them, end the travel restriction from the countries of Muslim majority, to ensure dignity to those who want an opportunity to live the "American Dream" by not funding Trump's "wall" and lastly, we want to end the practice of mass deportations to non violent undocumented citizens and instead offer them a pathway to citizenship.
The U.S. has witnessed the demonization of immigrants who wish to come to America to start a new life. We believe that it is an American value to invite hardworking families to come and pursue the American Dream. Immigrants who come to America work hard and pay taxes. They work jobs that most American citizens do not want. Crime among immigrants and undocumented persons is less than that of American citizens. Immigrants are the fabric of American culture and are an essential part of the US economy. However, many new policies have been considered in order to deter immigration, scapegoat migrants and strip the dignity from those who come to the US seeking asylum.
Our 8th grade class is bringing attention to this crisis with this petition, and will present it to speaker Pelosi on our trip to DC. Sign to show your support!
