Tell Congress: Shut Down Red Hill Now!

In November 2021, nearly 20,000 gallons of fuel leaked from a Navy storage facility in O'ahu, Hawaii, into a local water well poisoning almost 100,00 residents. While the Navy promised to close the facility in the next few years, there is still over 100 million gallons of fuel in the deteriorating tanks, threatening residents and their water safety every day.

Sign the petition to demand Congress immediately defuel the water tanks and shut down the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility.

Red Hill has been threatening locals and its surrounding environment since it was opened in 1943.

Just a month after the 2021 leak, cancer-causing PFAS – known as forever chemicals – were detected in local groundwater samples. In November 2022, hundreds of gallons of toxic firefighting foam used to maintain the leftover fuel spilled in the storage facility.

This is a disaster of the Navy's making. Every minute Red Hill tanks remain fueled, thousands of residents are at risk. Congress must act and escalate the shutdown and defueling of Red Hill, now.

Sign the petition to urge Congress to treat Red Hill like the health crisis it is and shut down the facility now!
