Do not separate animals from their humans at Vet offices. We need change now!

Recently my dog became very ill with IMHA Immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) is a major cause of severe anemia in American dogs. IMHA occurs when the immune system attacks and destroys oxygen-carrying red blood cells (RBC), leading to symptoms including exhaustion, weakness, and panting. His PCV was so low he needed a blood transfusion immediately. Thankfully, I was allowed to be with my baby throughout this process.

What I have learned from personal experience and talking to others is that the protocol for most veterinarian offices is to not allow humans to be with their fur babies.

This is simply not right. Our animals are our babies and parents are allowed to accompany their minor human children during medical procedures and doctor office visits why should this be any different?

We all know how stressful it is for animals to go to the vet even when they are healthy. In times of stress, injury or severe illness this is when our fur babies need their parents more than ever.

We must demand change now, before it is too late and we find out our fur baby has passed without their parents at their side.

Masks and gloves should be worn and temperatures check at front door to all who enter. This is not rocket science. This is not OK as pet owners need to be the voice of our babies. We demand to be with our animals in sickness and in heath. Please sign this petition and demand for change NOW!
