Support the continuation of Oklahoma State Accrediting Agency (OKSAA)

Due to circumstances beyond the agency's control, the state legislature did not renew the agency's sunset. The 65-year-old agency charged with protecting and ensuring quality programs for Veterans Education and Training Benefits is in danger of closing July 1, 2019, despite receiving the highest performance rating possible for the last six years. OKSAA is considered a "Gold Standard" State Approving Agency (SAA) and a best practice state by its partners and peer states. OKSAA has a contract with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through September 30, 2019. OKSAA receives no state dollars ($0) and its actions resulted in $135 million being paid (2018) to veterans and education institutions. Only Oklahoma's Governor J. Kevin Stitt, can recreate and designate OKSAA as the SAA for Oklahoma.  VA will take over if OKSAA closes. Even if another state agency takes over, there will be a disruption of services to state public and private educational institutions and the veterans they serve. There will be no cost savings for the state or additional services allowed under the VA contract.
