Level IV AAP at Fairfax Villa

Fairfax Villa currently does not have a level IV AAP program. This means kids who qualify must decide whether to be bussed to a different school (with kids who will not go to the same middle or high school) or to stay with their neighborhood school, their friends, their administrators, special ed instructors, and even their siblings. It is unfair to force families to choose between enrichment and keeping siblings together. It is unfair to tell a child (who might be painfully anxious and shy) that they need to start over in a different school with all new people and a much longer day because of transportation.

Fairfax Villa loses about one full class of students starting in third grade, as these kids are sent to Mosby Woods or Willow Springs. Keeping those students at Villa, or giving them the option to do level IV at Villa, would only help the school.
