With the rising tide of right-wing fuelled anti-LGBTQ hate across the country and outbreaks of the terrifying violence that accompanies it, it is more imperative than ever that we enshrine LGBTQ rights into law.
Our Members of Congress have a moral duty to protect one of our most marginalized communities from the Republican efforts to institutionalize bigotry through the 238 anti-LGBTQ discrimination bills that have made the rounds in state legislatures this year alone.
Tell Congress to protect LGBTQ+ Americans from right-wing bigotry!
But time is running out. Once Republicans take over the House, there's no way that we'll ever get the Equality Act passed again until we can flip it back — and we can't let the American LGBTQ community languish under the threat of Republican discrimination for years on end.
We must act now. The GOP-controlled Texas legislature introduced no less than 17 anti-LGBTQ bills on its very first day of the new legislative session, and other red states are sure to follow suit, and quickly. To make matters worse, the incoming GOP majority has made it clear they will pass a national version of Florida's horrifying "Don't Say Gay" bill at the first chance they get. The Senate must pass the Equality Act during the lame-duck session and protect our LGBTQ citizens.
Demand Congress pass the Equality Act during the lame-duck session!
