Overturn Furlough for Murderer's Release!

HE BRUTALLY MURDERED A MOTHER OF TWO, AND NOW HE IS ABOUT TO BE SET FREE

It was Christmas of 2004 when Billy Ray Marchman murdered his wife, Pamela, by shooting her 6 times. Pamela left behind two children. At the time, they were 15 and 21. Marchman pled guilty to the crime and began serving his life sentence with the possibility of parole. The victim's family had already begun preparing to attend the parole hearing, set for July 2019, to share their hesitation regarding his release when they learned that Marchman was approved for a furlough earlier this month. Medical furloughs are granted when an inmate is terminally ill. Unfortunately, with a furlough, the family will be unable to express any of their experiences with the murder as they would at a parole hearing. The family was not informed that a furlough had been applied for, much less approved, and only found out when they called to ask about how the process would work if Marchman did apply. With the furlough, Marchman was able to be set free with one signature. He did not have to go before a board, judge, or the family members of his victim.

Pamela's family does not believe Marchman should be shown mercy and want to make their reasons for that clear at the parole hearing. They will be unable to share in any meaningful way how drastically their life has been changed since their mother was taken from them so soon and in such a violent manner.

The goal of the family at this point is to overturn the furlough. There is a chance Marchman could still walk free at the parole hearing, but with the furlough, that is an absolute fact. Pamela's family wants justice for their mother. They want justice for the time she lost. They want justice for the fact that her grandchildren never got to meet their grandmother. Marchman did not show mercy. The murder of Pamela Stewart was premeditated. He wants to get out and live the life he has left, even though he did not give Pamela that chance.

Jeff Dunn approved this decision, and he can reverse it. The family of Pamela Stewart has less than 30 days at this point to make their case heard. At that time, Marchman will be released.

On behalf of Pamela Stewart's children and grandchildren, and in honor of Pamela's memory, please consider signing this petition to have Billy Ray Marchman's furlough reversed.

In addition to having the furlough reversed, we do not believe he should be released on any circumstances, including but not limited to his parole, or medical parole.

*This all falls under Alabama's COMPASSIONATE Release Program.
Changes that need to be made to this program:
Those who commit pre-meditated murder (non-accidental) should not be able to apply for either Medical Furlough or Medical Parole. Medical Furlough should have a checks and balances, no ONE person should have the ability to grant or not grant furlough for inmates.
Why show these inmates compassion when they show their victims NONE.
