Demand the GHMC to start an urgent animal rescue center!!

Until recently, our stray animals in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad (India) were heavily dependent on the rescue and inpatient services provided by the Blue Cross of Hyderabad (BCH). However, the sudden and unexpected announcement of withdrawal of rescue services by the BCH will leave the lives of hundreds of animals in danger. This has created an urgent need for alternate shelters in order to continue  providing A&E and inpatient care to our stray animals in the twin cities.

Therefore, we propose that the Government of Telangana takes over the responsibility of providing A&E services to stray animals in each of the existing 5 GHMC animal shelters. Adequate infrastructure and staff are already in place for extending this vital service. Individual burden on the GHMC shelters would be reduced by directing rescues to the concerned zonal shelter.
