CAMPAIGN TO REUNITE THE POWELL FAMILY

****This petition is following the death of Jamal Powell****

A Dear Son, Father, Brother, Friend and community icon, we are all very very Grieved..

Without time to digest what has happened to our beloved Jamal Powell (aka Jama) and the effect it has on our communuity and hos family as a whole..

Without time to grieve our loss..

We as the communtity have unfortunateley have had to endure a further heartache alongside the family, regarding Jama's two younger brothers being detained.

The two younger brothers were asked by the police to come in for standard questioning, which they complied with.

They were subsequently arrested and have been held in HMP Bristol since that day with a court hearing in July 2018.

I would to stress that from that day till now the two brothers of Jamal powell have not had a chance to grieve due to the "system" believing that somehow they are a risk to their community.

However we as the community know, as to be expected, the two young men are very traumatised by the tradgic loss of thier brother and seeking the comfort of their family

Like any human after the tragic loss of a family memebr, we believe as the community a prison cell is no place for them at this horrendous and cruel time time.

We have recieved a public out cry of sadness, anger and frustration from the communty as a whole at the imprisonmentof the two sibbling..

although one brother has been released (only days ago) Rafiki Powell is still imprisoned on remand untill July 2018.

Statistic from the recent MP Lammy report sept 2017  suggests and confirms in many cases that the "system" can be overly bias and we as a community hope this is not the case for Rafiki Powell.

In response to the public demand for the bail release of Rafiki Powell, we have devised this petition to show as a communty, we believe that Rafiki Powell should be released on Bail, so foremost he may attend his brothers funeral and thereafter, be able to grieve with his loves ones until his trial in July 2018.

There shall be an appeal hearing on Wednesday 7th of Febuary, so time is of the essence.
