Crown Estate say no to proposed offshore oil drilling at Poole Bays Jurassic coast

Corallion has proposed an offshore oil rig 5km south of Bournemouth in Dorset. It needs permission from the Crown Estate to do this. It would stand 300/400 feet above sea level and a vertical 800 metre long drill which they have dubbed the 'Colter Prospect'
The Mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) will be on location for 45 days and at the end of the operation they say it will be plugged and abandoned. However this being an exploratory drill if fruitful it is doubtful it would be left abandoned.
Please sign and join the many who have said no to a site of scientific interest being ruined in this way. The Jurassic coast has a beautiful coastline that has a amazing ecosystem. Not only is there a threat of an oil spill but a severe impact of the lives of many of the rare seahorses that live in the middle of the site they plan to use. An oil spill will be disastrous on migratory birds that live in this area, seagrass at studland would never recover and thus we lose many of our marine creatures living in the sabellaria reef. Please join the fight along side people like Chris Packham, Dame Jane Goodall, Kate Humble to name but a few to stop this from happening.
