The baby has been shifted from Idukki all the way to Kottoor elephant center at Trivandrum. The baby has it's fate sealed now at a place where chains are going to put on it's tiny legs and it will be an amusement being for human beings to enjoy and come and click pictures with. See the video I have posted to know what the Kottoor elephant center is. See how elephants are showing stereotyping behavior out of stress and irritation and frustration, they all just want freedom from the chains that bind them... :(

The trauma the baby has been going through the last two days is going to become a lifelong ritual for him. Well done humans ... You couldn't wait a few more days for the herd to come for the baby. You are in a hurry to get one more captive elephant in this state 🙏😱Please email these people and lets get this baby to S.O.S pccf.for@kerala.gov.in

Elephants in captivity suffer from psychological trauma as well as from physical abuse. Conditions such as boredom, depression and PASSIVE AND ACTIVE CRUELTY
There are two kinds of animal cruelty inherent across the spectrum of animal abuse. ACTIVE CRUELTY, which is cruelty inflicted (with deliberate intent to harm an animal creating immediate pain and suffering), and PASSIVE CRUELTY (harm inflicted via willful neglect creating prolonged suffering).
Regardless of the arguments that it may be the "custom" to ritually slaughter an animal for its fur or skin, or eat the animals we call our companions, cruelty is cruelty and cannot be disguised. All animals killed in these practices are "SENTIENT." They feel excruciating pain, fear and terror. This fact cannot be disregarded. While no regard is paid to this fact in many other countries, as a European and North American society we have a choice and must choose not to support and to condemn this absence of regard.

Animal cruelty is no longer a simple issue and categorically cannot be ignored. Animal cruelty issues long considered a peripheral concern are no longer on the outskirts of our society. Clinicians, veterinarians and scientists are starting to see a shift in that mentality now. Animal cruelty is now recognized as signature pathology. Animal abusers are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people. "To inflict cruelties on defenseless creatures, or condone such acts, is to abuse one of the cardinal tenets of a civilized society - reverence for life." There are a number of very important reasons that animal abuse should be considered a violent crime in our legal system.

First, we know based on personal experience and countless scientific studies that animals are not things. They are nothing like other "property" such as tables and chairs. Animals are sentient beings with the ability to feel a range of emotions, and they are harmed both physically and psychologically by violent abuse, much as human beings are. They deserve to be treated under the law as the complex creatures that they are. classifying animal abuse as a violent crime and tracking and punishing it accordingly, we will protect both helpless animals and the people animal abusers are more likely to abuse. While it is incredibly important to appropriately punish animal abusers this change would play an even larger role in the way we regard animals in our society.

When we consider the harm done to animals as equal to the harm done to members of our own species, we can begin to change cultural perceptions of animals and one day upgrade their status from being property to being individuals in their own right. It is only when this conscious change is made that we can hope to see a real change in the way that people treat and view animals. It's not only an upgrade in the law, but an upgrade in our own values. PLEASE THIS BABY NEEDS US.
