Oppose rezoning on corner of Mullen and Grady Ave

3/14 UPDATE!! Mullen Avenue WINS!! The application was denied unanimously by Tampa City Council! This was a group effort of our whole neighborhood and community to stop this. Thank you everyone for your time and effort!

PLEASE COME TO THE PUBLIC HEARING. THURS 3/14 AT 6:00PM, CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 3RD FLOOR, OLD CITY HALL, 315 E. KENNEDY BLVD. Please wear red so we can visually display our unity. 

A developer has applied to rezone 3916 W. Mullen Ave into a multi-family residential property. This is planned to be a large 4 unit townhome with 2 units facing Mullen and 2 facing Grady taking up the entire lot! This petition is to express opposition to rezoning and keep this lot one single family home. We are concerned about additional traffic and congestion on a corner where children walk to and from school, ruining the character of the neighborhood, overtaxing our infrastructure, decreased property values and setting a precedent for developers to build more townhomes in our single family neighborhood. We must protect our neighborhood! Sign and comment below!

We need to contact the Staff Members from the City of Tampa and make it clear that we oppose the request.  City Council begins their review by consulting staff and if staff opposes the request, the Council is likely to deny it.  Mary Samaniego in the Planning Department is assigned to this request.  Please email her at Mary.Samaniego@TampaGov.Net.  When you send the message, please copy Sandy.Marshall@TampaGov.Net, Councilman Guido Maniscalo (carrie.henriquez@tampagov.net), Councilman Harry Cohen (Ian.Whitney@tampagov.net), Councilman Mike Suarez (Lorena.Hardwick@tampagov.net), Councilman Charlie Miranda (mary.bryan@tampagov.net), and Councilwoman Yvonne Yolie Capin (Cynthia.Sarff@tampagov.net).  Mention the property by address (3916 W. Mullen Avenue) and application number (REZ-18-124).  Please also copy (MarkHeilig@GMail.com) so we can reference the volume of response at the hearing on 3/14.
