Stop Campaign Bribery

This is a proposed constitutional amendment designed to end the corrupt campaign practices which are undermining the electoral process in the USA.

We are nonpartisan.  We are not affiliated with any political party. Funds would be distributed to all bona fide candidates regardless of party affiliation.  This will not raise your taxes.  The funds would be appropriated by a simple check-off on your tax return designating part of your taxes, which you are already obligated to pay.

Amendment XXVIII

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this constitution, no person, firm, corporation or other entity shall contribute funds or things of value to or on behalf of any candidate for public office of these United States except as provided herein.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this constitution, no candidate for public office of these United States shall accept or disburse any funds or things of value to advance his or her candidacy for office, nor shall such candidate expend any funds whatsoever, regardless of the source of such funds, except as provided herein.

The congress shall appropriate and distribute such public funds as may be necessary for bona fide candidates for public office of the United States to ensure a full and fair dissemination of each candidate's qualifications and views on public issues.  The candidate may expend such funds as are deemed necessary and proper in pursuit of office and shall make an accurate and public accounting of such expenditures.

The congress shall make such rules as will ensure fair and equitable distribution of such public funds among bona fide candidates in order to provide adequate public discourse upon the issues and qualifications of the candidates and shall prescribe such criminal and civil penalties as may be necessary to ensure compliance with these amendments.
