We the fans request that "The Virgin Tour", "Who's That Girl World Tour", "Blond Ambition World Tour", "The Girlie Show", "Drowned World Tour", "Re-Invention Tour" & "Confessions Tour" are all released in high-definiton on Blu-Ray with uncompressed master audio and on DVD where they have previously gone unreleased.
Madonna fans have been patiently waiting for a modern release of her remarkable tours for many years. Especially the "The Virgin Tour" (with cut songs Angel, Borderline and Burning Up restored), "Blond Ambition Tour" and "Re-Invention Tour" which have never been released in DVD format outside of documentary films, which only include select songs and not the entire show as it was meant to be experienced. Fans have been asking for and demanding these releases passionately. Very few moments of Madonna's career have been represented on Blu-Ray, restored and remastered in high definition. This will also help put a stop to the many bootlegs that are available for purchase online which is a loss to the artist and the record companies.
"The Confessions Tour" was mastered in HD for television broadcast, "Blond Ambition Tour" was shot in 35mm (perfect for Blu-Ray), and "Re-Invention Tour" looks to have been mastered in HD due to the "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" film, which itself has also not been released on Blu Ray. The Virgin Tour was reportedly shot on film. So the ones with questionable quality issues are the Who's That Girl, Girlie Show and Drowned World tours. Of course some of her music video clips were unfortunately edited on videotape, a low definition format. Still, a return to original source materials and perfectly matched re-edit would restore the full wonder in these historicly significant documents. Other videos are ready for Blu-Ray now. The "Bedtime Story" music video, for example, was shot in 35mm and even shown in theaters.
In addition, the 2009 music video compilation "Celebration: The Video Collection" that was released on DVD had poor video remastering. Key videos, such as Oh Father, Bad Girl, Fever, This Used to Be My Playground, Drowned World/Substitute For Love, Nothing Really Matters and the uncut American Life were left out. Her music videos need to be restored from the highest quality existing elements. Videos shot in widescreen should be in anamorphic widescreen, and full screen videos should be pillarboxed on widescreen TVs, insuring that all their original aspect ratios are honored.
