Freadom Of Expression To Decorte Graduation Caps!

WE the senior class have to pay $51.50 for our cap and gowns legally making it our property. But when it comes to graduation the school tells us we can not decorate are caps that we paid for. And if we do decorate it they punish us by not letting us walk with are class. I don't see why we cant in the PCS student code of conduct it does not say we can not decorate our caps. In fact it says the opposite, on page 30 at the top under Student Rights In Genera D. Students have the rights to Freedom of expression. Under that it states the first amendment of freedom of expression "The Untied States Supreme Court ruled in 1969 that public school students do not leave their constitutional right to freedom of expression at the schoolhouse gate. A student has a right to freedom of expression; however, when a student exercises that right, the student must do so in a responsible manner that does not cause a disruption of the school or school activity". Decorating a cap that we the students have paid for is not a disruption to the school. I ask your help in sign this petition so that we can express ourselves and celebration properly. By signing this paper you agree to not put anything inappropriate offensive decoration on you cap, and also you have to go through approval by the school administration.
