Will the European Commission Uphold the Ban on Animal Testing for Cosmetics?

Amidst pressure from animal rights advocates, the European Commission has finally announced its plan to phase out the use of animals in experiments and chemical testing! This is an amazing victory, and will protect so many innocent, sentient creatures from the torturous experience of being poked and prodded in a lab. But some experts are worried about a glaring omission.

The European Commission has made no commitments to uphold the EU ban on animal testing for cosmetics, which was passed over ten years ago. This ban is the cornerstone of EU policy to protect animals from unnecessary harm and abuse -- and it can't be overlooked.

Sign now to demand the European Commission uphold the ban on the use of animals in cosmetics testing!

Cosmetics testing is notoriously torturous for animals. Every year, it is estimated that half a million innocent animals are killed in the process of being tested for cosmetics. Even the animals that make it out alive suffer tremendously: testing involves smearing substances on animals' skin, dripping things into their eyes, and literally forcing it down their throats.

Sign the petition if you agree: no animal deserves this treatment, and the European Commission must commit to upholding the ban on cosmetics testing!
