Let American artists compete in Portrait/Landscape Artist of the Year, USA version

Portrait Artist of the Year and Landscape Artist of the Year are two reality series presented by Sky Arts television of Great Britain which focus on portrait and landscape art.

In both series, amateur and professional artists from Great Britain and Ireland compete through heats painting portraits of various celebrities, or various British landscapes plein air, to win a life-changing commission to paint a portrait of a noted individual or a landscape to be displayed in a prestigious gallery, such as the National Portrait Gallery of London. Their work is judged by three judges: Kathleen Soriano, a former museum curator, Kate Bryan, a former gallery collector, and Tai-Shan Sherenberg, an award-winning artist.

These are the best reality shows on television, because they showcase so much great talent from artists from all walks of life. But talented artists here in America are ineligible to compete because its only open to artists from Britain and Ireland.

There should be an adapted version of the shows for television here in America, much like how Landscape Artist of the Year was adapted for Canadian television in 2019. There are so many talented American artists here who would love to compete for such a prize. We also have many great movie/tv celebrities who would love to sit for portraits, and we have many stunning landscapes here to paint.

Bring Portrait Artist of the Year and Landscape Artist of the Year to the United States of America.
