The city of San Francisco has recently stopped turning the lights on at Potrero Del Sol Skatepark for the past month. This is both an environmental hazard and public health issue to the local citizens who use this skatepark. Although this skatepark is extremely popular, the city has neglected the safety and recreational needs of the local citizens who regularly use this skatepark. When the sun sets, it makes it too difficult for the people to see and increases the probability of people injuring themselves. It also increases the probability of suspicious activity and crimes happening in this local park, now that lights no longer turn on when it gets dark. Can the board members of the parks and recreation department of San Francisco please advocate for us and turn our lights back on when it gets dark so we can feel safe again. Thank you.
