There needs to be more help for the people that are living on the streets, sleeping under overpasses, and struggling to survive. We only have ONE homeless shelter, it's always filled to capacity and many are turned away. Shasta County needs a SOLUTION to get these people their own place to live, receive medical and dental care, free education would be great and a place to see counselor's. Some of the homeless are addicted to drugs/alcohol and they'd need extra help. There must be some funds to start up another shelter but I believe that California should do what Utah has done. Utah found a way to get owners of apartments to give 10% of their number of units they have and allow homeless people a home of their own. If Shasta County did the same thing it would highly help all the homeless people in this county. If this solution came about I vote to help ALL the homeless in California.
