I'm trying to get this petition signed to help fight the potential storage units that are trying to go in where the old lumber yard is. (Did you even know about this???)
Besides the safety of our children at St. Johns being a concern with the traffic coming and going 24hours a day, but the appearance of a storage unit smack dab in the middle of our town on the main road is less then appealing. I feel like there has to be way better use of that property that could benefit the community more.
That being said...there is a Committee meeting at 7pm tonight at the Village Hall. If you would like to sign the petition let me know and I will swing by on my way home. OR come up tonight and find out what is going on with that property.
UPDATE: Found out last night at the Village meeting that other than potential real estate tax increases, there will be no additional income for the village with proposed storage facility where the old Lumber Yard was. This property generated sales tax revenue and changing it will no longer provide this.
