COCO PALMS - Stop the Safety and Environmental Threats - 20 Years of decay is Long Enough

January 25, 2013 is fast approaching.

That is the final deadline for Coco Palms.

After 20 years of abandonment, decay, pollution, and lost hopes, on January 25, 2013 the legal right to continue this nightmare will end. All the extensions given by the Kauai Planning Commission will have been exhausted.

Now is the time for the people of Kauai and the County of Kauai and the State of Hawaii to eliminate this scourge and make safe this unsafe property.

A failed investment by a developer should no longer hold the public hostage to such environmental, health, and safety threats. It is time for change.

We the undersigned desire that the State of Hawaii and the County of Kauai conduct condemnation proceedings against the facility known as Coco Palms, on the island of Kauai.

Further, we petition the State of Hawaii and the County of Kauai to pursue immanent domain proceedings against the real property of Coco Palms in order to protect the safety and welfare of the community.

The undersigned petition the State of Hawaii and the County of Kauai to clear the property of all “improvements” leaving it in it’s original natural state to be maintained by the state and used as a Public Park.
