We all watch it on the news, time and time again, children running out of schools that are under fire by a gunman.

Every morning I worry like all other parents and students, "Is today the day it happens at our school?"

What if I told you that we don't have to live like this? What if there was a solution that had nothing to do with the messy gun control debate?

This violence can stop. Children can go to school without fear of being shot. The solution is simple...mandatory metal detectors in all public schools.

Our tax dollars fund public schools. The government's sole duty is to protect it's citizens. It is failing to protect the most vulnerable citizens from violent attacks on U.S. soil.
