Drop Investigation of Single Mom Arrested for "Abandoning" Kids at Food Court During Job Interview!

Houston police arrested single mom Laura Browder for "abandoning" her children at a mall food court while she sat for a job interview 30 feet away.

According to Browder, she bought her 6-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son lunch before sitting them at a table 30 feet away from her job interview. She could easily see the children the entire time. After accepting the job offer, police arrested her. A mall patron called the police to report "abandoned children." Now, Browder worries that her arrest may cause her to lose the job offer.

A judge released Browder and gave her full custody of the children, but Child Protective Services is still investigating the case.

Police should never have arrested Browder seeing how close she was to her children. Browder was clearly doing the best she could to find a job to better provide for her children, while making sure her children were safe during the interview. Investigating this so-called abandonment only puts Browder in a worse situation that will harm her children in the end. Please sign the petition to urge Child Protective Services to stop this investigation!
