  • by: Sharon Jones
  • recipient: Charles City County, VA School Board

Trevor is a product of Charles City County, VA. He attended school and played multiple sports at Charles City County High School. He received a full football scholarship to The University of Richmond to play division I football. He graduated in December, 2015 after a very successful academic and athletic year. He competed in many football games during his college career; one being the semi-final national championship game in North Dakota in his senior year. In several of those televised games he made huge plays, and was called out and shown on television where his hometown Charles City VA was recognized, by the game commentators. He was recognized by local television stations by on air interviews and by articles in The Richmond Times Dispatch on multiple occasions. He made several radio appearances with his head coach, Danny Rocco and was named player of the game by his coaches after the semi-final championship game in North Dakota. He has maintained close relationships with his high school coach as well as his college coaches and would be instrumental in helping stellar athletes receive the opportunity to be scouted by local area colleges. He was also recognized by the Charles City County, VA chapter of The NAACP with the Youth Leadership Award at their banquet last year; in attendance where the current high school principal, the current school superintendent and some members of the school board. Trevor has much love for his hometown and wants to see the youth there become successful in whatever they chose to do in life. He wants to give back to the place that he learned so much from and has received so much love and support from. He wants the students to know that it doesn't matter where you come from or what your personal circumstances may be that if you work hard you can achieve great things. We are asking that the members of the school board allow Trevor to give back to his community which has given so much to him. Thank you.
