It's time to for the police and politics to step into the 21 first century when it comes to body cams for officers in Augusta County and Woodrow Wilson.

The public are already using cameras to record police. The public want protection and the police want better relations with the public. This is a win win for the public and police.

We, the undersigned, support legislation that requires all police officers to wear body cameras at all times they are interacting with the general public.

There are many benefits for both officers and the public:

Objective representation of events

Make investigations more efficient and timely

Reduce hostility of officers and citizens

Reduce complaints from citizens

Provide evidence to support prosecutions

Provide evidence to support the public

It's time to use the tools that are available to improve police and public relations.
