Stop Elephant Poaching!

I'm a high school student trying to make a change in the world. I have done tons of research and I am ready to put an end to this devastation. My goal is to get 1000 signatures, and send this to my district representative, my US Senators, and the United Nations. Millions of elephants are dying or being taken away from their families. On average, 55 elephants are being killed a day! Elephants are on their way to being extinct. Sadly, they are now starting to evolve where they are born without tusks. Not only does this not help them defend themselves, but it doesn't help their environment either. They make a huge impact by using their tusks to dig water holes, and they're herbivores so they help with the vegetation. Without the elephants, animals such as lions and tigers won't have their food to eat either. Even though the ivory trade is illegal, ivory is still being sold across the black market illegally. Better fines and punishments need to be put into place in order to save these magestic creatures. Don't you want our future generations to be able to see these beautiful creatures? The Trump administration has made it "quietly" legal to bring elephant parts into this country. By signing this we're one step closer to making it illegal again to bring elephant parts into the U.S. and to stop poaching in general. Please help save these intelligent animals.
